Personal Training and Running Coaching in Galway

Welcome to JC Fitness

My name is Jason Cafferkey, and I am a personal health, fitness an nutrition trainer in Galway and online who works with you to achieve the results you want.

Exercise and nutrition should not be a punishing thing, but rather something you relish and enjoy. I will take time to learn about you and your goals ahead of coming up with a personalised plan that is fun for you and takes your abilities into account.

I always take a patient approach, working gradually towards establishing a routine that you can maintain, as opposed to pressuring you with intensive sessions and strict deadlines. However, if you do have a deadline you want to meet, I can also accommodate for that as well.

My Approach

I take care to ensure that personal health, fitness and nutrition is fun – and not something to be feared. Together we will gain an understanding of your current situation, where you want to be, and work towards reaching that goal in a way that makes sense to you. Learning about what makes you tick is a big part of what I do, and I don’t impose deadlines if that doesn’t suit you.

Each client is unique, so I always adopt a tailored approach based on what best works for you.

Initial Consultation

Our first meeting will be all about understanding your particular situation – your current fitness levels, what your goals are, and where your strengths and weaknesses lie. This is not a pass or fail test. It is all about us getting to know each other and clearly establishing the kind of work we’ll be doing together, getting you motivated for the journey ahead.

Exercise

We will take a patient, gradual approach to increasing your level of exercise. Going step by step is the best and most effective way for making long-lasting effective change – as opposed to going ‘all or nothing’. We will progressively build towards improved fitness in a way that suits you. Take a look at my services for a more detailed explanation of how I work with my clients.

Nutrition

I do not impose strict diets on my clients, as this approach is neither sustainable nor enjoyable. As we work together over time, our focus will be on building a nutrition plan that lasts, laying the foundation for something you can actually stick to for a long-term period. Please visit my Nutrition page for more information on this part of my service.

Yes. Many clients have their own private gyms, and as a result I have much experiencing of working with people in their own homes. If you are extremely busy and cannot do in-person sessions, I also offer all of my services online, allowing you to receive exercise and nutrition training from the comfort of your own home over Zoom.

  • Nutritional habits (foods you like, etc.)
  • Exercises you enjoy and don’t enjoy
